Video

I didn't develop much expertise in video early on in my photographic adventures. Up through 2004 I shot really tiny 320x240 videos with my point-and-shoot cameras, and I some of those are posted here. In 2004 I got a refurbished Canon ZR60 video camera and messed around this it for a few years. That boosted the resolution to 720x480, suitable for viewing on old tube TVs. When I got the 5D Mark III in 2012, that gave me 1920x1080 HD capability, but I really didn't use it. I declined to upgrade to the Mark IV when it came along because I figured most of the advancements related to video. (Although the chip was a bit larger.)

What really has gotten me into video lately has been my drone work, which is primarily for real estate. See EaglePhoto.net. As a result, I've become semi-proficient in the video editing program DaVinci Resolve. I didn't do anything with the video and images I shot during the 2021 fire, but with my burgeoning expertise I made a 3-minute production in 2025. And now that I have an R5 mirrorless with 8K resolution, I'll probably shoot more video recreationally in support of my other photography. Anyway, here is my journey through the world of video, starting with the most recent and going back to the postage-stamp sized documentary I shot in Antarctica in 2003.
