The last few times I've had a Photo of the Day vacancy, local wildlife presented itself in daylight outside my back door to fill in the blank. I didn't have such luck for December 30, so I checked my trail cameras. The POD selection is a bobcat in Custer Gallatin National Forest south of town after sunset.

Other trailcam images from this month are a daytime shot, presumably of the same bobcat, from the afternoon of December 9, and a coyote on Christmas Day. There are still 11 POD vacancies, with the next coming up January 28.
