I've seen and photographed the Northern Lights from our back yard several times, but usually the colors aren't evident until I'm looking at the long-exposure (usually 30 seconds) on the computer screen. This time, the colors were very vivid. And unlike other times, they weren't just in the north/northwest. They were on all sides and above us.
Also shown here is Comet Lemmon. I shot it with my Seestar Nov. 1. One good thing about the Seestar is you can follow where it is pointing to make finding the object with binoculars easier. Through my modest binoculars, the comet was just a smudge. I don't use the Seestar a lot because who needs more than a couple images of Andromeda, but I plan to pull it out whenever a comet comes by. So there's a picture of that in the gallery. And a new one of Andromeda. Click on an image to start the slide show at that point.
