Usually when you see a wild animal or capture an image of one, you have no idea whether you've seen that critter before. Reconyx #7 trailcam in the national forest captured three black bears this months that I'm sure I've seen before. First of all, it's two yearlings and a mama in a location where an identical grouping was seen last July. And one of the young "black" bears is cinnamon colored.
Also caught on the trail camera was a mountain lion on April 28, and a particularly sharp image of a moose on May 22. Any time a trailcam produces anything better than a fuzzy suggestion, I'm happy. I've decided the Browning #11 purchased two years ago is my best trail camera for image quality, even better than the two more expensive but older Reconyx. Therefore my next camera purchase was a Browning Browning Dark Ops DCL Nano which has the same still image specs as #11, 10Mp in daylight. I almost always shoot stills, but the Nano boasts 4K video, so when I set it out in the woods last week I went with video. If nothing else, I figure I can pull 10Mp stills from the videos.
