I came across this hummingbird image from 2004 in Arizona, which reminded me that some local people have posted that they have their hummingbird feeders up already. I'm not going to do it today with the wind howling, but maybe tomorrow.
I remember that I went to that part of Arizona, Portal in the southeast, in large part to find hummingbirds. The image was taken with my 1D Mark II with the 300mm lens and 1.4x extender. I still use that camera to shoot bluebirds, but I have to plug it in with an extension cord because the batteries only last for a few minutes.
The second image is from the back yard last year, 6D Mark II with giant 500mm lens.
Update, May 19: It took a while, but I finally spotted the first hummingbird of the season today. I have the base with the little perches on my good feeder now. In a week or so on some sunny day, I will swap in the base without the perches and try to get some flight shots. (I have two bases because my feeder got broken three years ago and I ordered an identical replacement. Subsequently I bent back the perches on one of the bases to make the birds fly for their supper.)

The 2004 hummingbird image has not been posted before. Now that I have full Photoshop, I could spend all of my days just redoing and adding images from 20 years ago. The reprocessed images look more vibrant than the old versions. I have redone some of the 2004 bear images from British Columbia, and added this one of a yearling griz in Knight Inlet. I am getting my workflow figured out with Photoshop and Lightroom Classic. LC can do editing, but I greatly prefer Photoshop.
