We hiked part of the Palisades Trail in the national forest near our house in the fall of 2020, but didn't go back until about July 15 last year. I was surprised at the abundance and variety of wildflowers along the trail, and wondered what I had missed by not going earlier in the season.
This year, I made sure to check it out in May, and really didn't find anything. Today, there are lots of tall dandelions and a few other flowers. I intend to check it every week or so to track the changes as the summer progresses.
Today was about the bees. I had the 6D Mark II and the new 100-400mm lens, which focuses much more closely than the previous version I had for 20 years. I'll hold on to my 100mm macro lens, but the zoom does a decent job.
