Top 10 (+) scenic images from South Dakota
I'm not really a scenic photographer, but here are some scenes (and some "other") from around South Dakota 2007-17 and beyond. Click on any image to load larger image and start slide show. [Narrative]
Bison along the drive to my trailcam location, Wind Cave National Park. One of my favorite "wallpaper" images. Bighorn, Badlands National Park. B-17 Sentimental Journey, Sioux Falls Air Show. USAF Thunderbirds, Sioux Falls Air Show. Tyrannosaurus Rex named Stan, Black Hills Institute, Hill City. Partial solar eclipse and huge sunspot, October 23, 2014. I took this from my yard but for the August 2017 total eclipse will have to travel to Nebraska.
Transit of Mercury, Nov. 11, 2019. Mercury is the tiny dot near the center of the Sun. No sunspots, unusual. Lone tree in a prairie dog town, Conata Basin, South Dakota. Eagle tree on Highway 87, Custer State Park. The tree has since been blasted by lightning and I haven´t see eagles in the area recently. Pronghorns among the grass, Custer State Park. Follow the Yellow Brick Road, Custer State Park. Capping off the South Dakota slide show is this bighorn lost in the desolation of Badlands National Park.
Fire surrounds the camera, Wind Cave National Park. Needle´s Eye, Custer State Park.
