Kudos to the State of Arizona for stepping in to cover up the failures of Beltway partisans, at least in regard to having the Grand Canyon open in time for our visit.

I've never been an enthusiastic landscape photographer. I always keep an eye open for something alive and moving on the landscape, and was happy to spot a small herd of elk hanging around the Visitor Center.
